Joe Brunsting

While at QCHS Joe was the first QCHS OFSAA gold-medallist in track and field in winning the OFSAA steeplechase in 2004. He was a member of the men’s cross-country running team which won 3 consecutive COSSA titles. He received the award of co-athlete of the year in 2004.  Joe is also a strong academic student and excelled in the University of Waterloo Euclid Math Contest in Grade 12.

After graduating, Joe entered the University of Guelph in Water Resources Engineering and is currently in his fourth year. He has helped the Guelph cross-country running team to 3 straight national team titles and was an All-Canadian athlete last year. He attends New Life Christian Reformed Church in Guelph and is actively involved in the Guelph Campus Ministry. His present career goal is to work as an engineer to help foster sustainability in water and environmental management.

“I feel that Quinte Christian High School helped me in providing a superior academic base for the rigors of undergraduate engineering. Encouragement to develop my gifts in a variety of areas has helped me in succeeding in personal goals both academically and otherwise. I also feel that the spiritual encouragement and guidance helped me have a strong faith base from which to engage a new community at university and stay actively involved in a faith community.”
